ExtremA 2023 | The Update
Five years after the initial compilation of the research status on extreme events related to alpine natural hazards in Austria and the resulting publication of the book volume ExtremA 2019, a conference was held in June 2023 to discuss the latest developments. The goal of the event was to stimulate the exchange between science and practice. Through various keynote presentations, the developments in the research of selected disciplines were presented. Following the presentations, around 70 participants engaged in a lively plenary discussion, addressing the questions: 'Is enough being done by all stakeholders to be prepared for extreme events in the future? Are we acting correctly?'
